3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Michael Lorenzen (shoulder) had a follow-up MRI on Thursday and has been cleared to begin a throwing program in Arizona. Lorenzen has been on the injured all season after straining his right shoulder during Spring Training. He suffered a setback along the way and went for platelet-rich plasma treatment in mid-April. Back in the spring, Cincinnati wanted Lorenzen to take a spot in their starting rotation, but his role with the team will be unclear when he is ready to return. Lorenzen's replacement in the rotation, Jeff Hoffman, hasn't exactly performed all that well, so Lorenzen could take his spot. A return in June is the best-case scenario for Lorenzen, although his timeline is unclear.--Matt T - RotoBaller
