Alex Verdugo Mired In Slump
3 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo has been slumping of late, producing only a .220/.303/.288 slash line over his last 15 games, and he's been even worse with a .373 OPS over the last week. Verdugo has faced some minor bad luck thus far in 2021, as his xwOBA, xBA, and xSLG all outpace his actual statistics in each category by 14, 22, and 24 points respectively. He'll look to get back on track against Griffin Canning and the Angels on Friday. Fantasy managers should be patient with Verdugo, who offers an elite strikeout rate, solid contact, and some stolen base potential.
