Jose Abreu Exits After Nasty Collision
4 years agoChicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu left Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader versus the Kansas City Royals after a nasty collision with Royals infielder Hunter Dozier in the top of the second inning. Abreu was looking to catch a pop out on the first base line and collided with the sprinting Dozier. It was an ugly collision and Abreu needed help getting up and leaving the field. Catcher Yasmani Grandal will shift to first base with catcher Zack Collins entering the game behind the dish. More should be known on the exact injury for Abreu, but managers shouldn't expect him to be in the lineup for Game 2. Abreu finished the game with one RBI on a sacrifice fly.
