4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals shortstop Paul DeJong (rib) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a non-displaced fracture in his left rib, according to Zachary Silver of MLB.com. DeJong was hit in the ribs by a pitch on Tuesday, and then exited Wednesday's game with discomfort in his left side. Manager Mike Shildt said that he hopes DeJong's injury will only require the minimum 10 days stay on the injured list, and no more than 14 days. With DeJong out, the Cardinals have selected the contract of shortstop Max Moroff to replace him on the roster.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
