Daniel Bard Grabs Fourth Save Of The Season On Friday
3 years agoColorado Rockies RHP Daniel Bard worked a scoreless ninth inning while issuing one walk in a 9-6 win over the Reds on Friday. Bard walked Alex Blandino to start things off in the ninth before inducing a double play and another ground ball to end the contest. It was the 35-year-old's fourth save of the year. He also owns a poor 6.59 ERA, 2.05 WHIP, and 16:8 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings. He's struggled throughout the season and it feels like he should be on thin ice but manager Bud Black keeps doing to him in high-leverage situations.
