4 years agoChicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu (face) is campaigning to play in Saturday's game against the Royals, per manager Tony La Russa. Abreu won't be allowed to suit up without a final medical evaluation, which would then give La Russa the green light to pencil him in. The veteran first baseman was involved in a scary collision with the Royals' Hunter Dozier- which left him nursing a laceration on his face and a contusion on his knee- though he has made a rather quick recovery. At any rate, it sounds like fantasy managers will remarkably be able to slot Abreu, who has seven homers and 32 RBI, back into their lineups this weekend--Tim Capurso
