4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Mitch Keller put together a solid start on Sunday, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out eight over five innings of work against the Giants. Keller took the loss despite recording one of his best starts of the year, as he posted a new season-high in strikeouts. Inconsistency has been the name of the game for Keller this year, as this outing comes on the heels of his last start in which he was lit up by the Reds to the tune of seven runs over 3 1/3 innings. He is MLB's version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde this year, tossing 5+ innings and allowing two or fewer runs one day, followed by a start in which he fails to pitch five full innings and allows three or more earned runs. At this point until he can find more consistency on the mound, his best case scenario is as a matchup-dependent streaming option in deeper leagues.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
