Austin Riley Reaches Base Five Times
4 years agoAtlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley did his part by reaching base five times on Sunday but the club still lost the game 10-9 to the Milwaukee Brewers. Riley had two singles and three walks. The effort raised his on-base average up to .405 — more than .100 points higher than his career-high of .301 set last season. Unfortunately, his more patient approach has eaten into his power numbers and he has just three home runs in 39 games. Over his three MLB seasons, Riley has seen his ISO rate go from a career-high of .245 during his rookie season to .176 last year to .104 so far this season. Riley needs to rediscover his power stroke to become a highly sought-after commodity in fantasy leagues.
