Rafael Montero Enters To Start The Sixth Inning
3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Rafael Montero entered Sunday's game in the sixth inning Sunday and was unable to complete the frame, throwing 2/3 of an inning and allowing two runs (one of which was earned) on two hits and a walk while striking out one. Montero has been Seattle's closer for most of the season, but this usage suggests he couldn't be further from locked into that role. Fantasy managers who are truly desperate for saves may still get some equity out of Montero, but he seems primed to do major damage to the ERA and WHIP categories even if he does get those opportunities.
