3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda has been pitching with a groin issue and may need to miss a start, according to manager Rocco Baldelli. Maeda said he's pitched with this issue before, but his results this season seem to indicate something is wrong. The right-hander is 2-2 with a 5.26 ERA and 1.57 WHIP through eight starts. His strikeout rate has plummeted under 20 percent after posting a strong 33.4 percent rate last season. Maeda is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Tuesday at which time the Twins should provide an update if he can make his next start or need a stint on the injured list.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
