Anthony Rizzo Dealing With Lower Back Tightness
4 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (back) exited Tuesday's contest with lower back tightness. Rizzo appeared to feel pain in his back in between innings during the top of the fourth inning. After the inning, Rizzo ran into the tunnel and was replaced by Jason Heyward. Rizzo has dealt with back issues in the past and Rizzo remains day-to-day for now. If Rizzo misses time, third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant is likely to slide over to first base and utility man Matt Duffy would likely become the third baseman on most occasions. More should be known about the extent of Rizzo's injury as the evening goes on. Rizzo is hitting .250 with five home runs, 16 RBI and three stolen bases in his walk year.
