J.D. Martinez Goes Hitless, Leaves Five On Base
3 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez has been excellent all season, slashing .333/.410/.590 through 156 at-bats, but he has been in a bit of a dry spell in the extra-base category. Martinez hasn't had an extra-base hit since May 5, went he last went deep. On Tuesday, Martinez went 0-for-4 and left five runners on base, though it would hardly have made a difference in the contest with the Red Sox losing to the Blue Jays 8-0. Martinez is bound to regain his power stroke soon, and he remains an excellent fantasy option.
