4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Spencer Turnbull tossed the fifth no-hitter of the year on Tuesday night, limiting the Mariners to just two walks in a 5-0 win over Seattle. Turnbull set a new season-high with nine strikeouts, as he now has recorded at least five strikeouts in four of his six starts this season. While his 3.91 ERA is a little high, his 3.46 xERA (which ranks in the 66th percentile) suggests he's been slightly unlucky on the mound this year. One of the biggest things Turnbull has going for him this year is that he's managed to lower his walk rate to 5.4 percent after posting a nine percent and 12 percent walk rates in 2019 and 2020 respectively. Going forward, Turnbull looks to be a solid streaming option in most formats.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
