Anthony Rizzo Sidelined On Wednesday
4 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (back) will be out of Wednesday's contest with lower back tightness. Rizzo suffered the injury on Tuesday and exited the ballgame early. Back injuries are nothing new for Rizzo and wise managers should have been prepared that something like this could happen to Rizzo when they drafted him. Rizzo remains day-to-day for now and will be replaced in the lineup by infielder David Bote. Bote will play third base and bat fifth with third baseman Kris Bryant shifting over to first base. Bote along with Matt Duffy would see the biggest increase in playing time if Rizzo hits the injured list. Of those two, Duffy has been having a better season and could offer value in deeper mixed leagues.
