3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Chi Chi Gonzalez took the loss on Wednesday when he allowed two runs on four hits with one walk and six strikeouts over six innings in a 3-0 loss to the Padres. Gonzalez actually pitched well on Wednesday with the only two runs against him coming via Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jake Cronenworth (inside-the-park) solo home runs. He punched out a season-high six and only issued one free pass. The Rockies weren't able to score any runs against Joe Musgrove and company, though, so Gonzalez was saddled with his second loss of the season. For his part, he's notched back-to-back quality starts and lowered his ERA to 4.54 to go along with a 1.32 WHIP and 23:12 K/BB ratio over 41 2/3 innings (nine appearances, seven starts). He's done a solid job limiting runs this season but he doesn't miss many bats and that limits his fantasy upside. He gets the Mets on the road in his next start but he should only be considered as a low-end streamer in that one.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
