Nick Lodolo Strikes Out 11 Batters At Double-A
4 years agoCincinnati Reds pitching prospect Nick Lodolo continued to miss bats at a high rate during a dominant start on Wednesday. The young lefty allowed just one hit and posted an 11-1 K-BB ratio in 7 1/3 innings. Through three Double-A starts this season, he has a 0.57 ERA and has allowed just eight hits in 15 2/3 innings. He also has a 24-5 K-BB ratio and he's struck out 10 or more batters in a game twice this season. Lodolo isn't an overpowering pitcher in terms of velocity but he's done a great job of keeping the ball on the ground, throwing strikes, and finding ways to miss bats as witnessed by the 41% strikeout rate. He's likely ready for the challenge of Triple-A and could have an impact on 2021 redraft leagues in the second half of the year.
