4 years agoChicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras will rest on Thursday versus the Washington Nationals. Contreras caught Wednesday's night game and with a quick turnaround on Thursday afternoon, the talented catcher will have a day to rest. Contreras has been one of the best catchers behind the dish and should return to the lineup on Friday versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Catcher P.J. Higgins will replace Contreras on Thursday and bat eighth. Higgins replaced Jason Heyward (hamstring) on Wednesday and went 0-for-3.
