4 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward (hamstring) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain. Heyward suffered the injury in Wednesday's contest and was replaced in the bottom of the fourth inning. Heyward hasn't provided much, if any value to managers this season. With Heyward sidelined, infielders David Bote, Eric Sogard and Matt Duffy could all see an increased amount of playing time with Kris Bryant getting more starts in the outfield versus at third base. Of that group, Duffy has the most value to offer at the moment. Outfielder Nick Martini has been recalled by the Cubs from Triple-A Iowa to replace Heyward on the roster and he will bat seventh on Thursday versus Joe Ross.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
