Craig Kimbrel K's The Side For Ninth Save
4 years agoChicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel continued his hot start to the season by striking out all three hitters he faced on Thursday to convert his ninth save of the season. Kimbrel has been having a phenomenal season in his walk year and now owns a shiny 1.02 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings. Kimbrel is a trade candidate and could lose save opportunities depending on if he is dealt and where he is dealt, but it's hard to argue that he hasn't been one of the best closers this season. He remains a valuable option in all leagues and should hold most of his value if he is dealt later in the season. Relievers Andrew Chafin and Ryan Tepera would be the likeliest options to close out games if Kimbrel gets dealt or suffers an injury.
