4 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz (wrist) is not in the lineup for the nightcap of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Los Angeles Angels. Cruz was hit on the wrist by a pitch during the matinee game and was checked on by the trainer and manager Rocco Baldelli, though he stayed in the game. The Twins are calling it a wrist contusion and viewing it as a day-to-day situation. It doesn't sound like something that will keep Cruz out for an extended period of time. Josh Donaldson will get a breather from the field and serve as the designated hitter, with Luis Arraez getting the start at third base.--Tim Capurso
