4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vince Velasquez (finger) was a late scratch from Thursday's game against the Miami Marlins. He is reportedly dealing with a right index finger issue, but is hopeful to make his next start. David Hale took the mound as the emergency starter for the Phillies on Thursday. He allowed one earned run with four strikeouts through three innings of work. Velasquez is scheduled to take the mound versus the Miami Marlins for his next start. Hale might be asked to make another start if Velasquez is unable to pitch. However, Hale won't be worth looking at in fantasy leagues since this sounds like a minor issue for Velasquez.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
