4 years agoNew York Yankees pitching prospect Luis Medina was throwing bullets on Thursday when he struck out 11 batters in 5 2/3 innings of work. The hard-throwing right-hander allowed just one hit and one walk over that stretch. He threw 64% of his pitches for strikes. Medina has long been known for his ability to surpass triple digits on his heater with ease but he walked 70 batters and threw 27 wild pitches in 103 2/3 A-ball innings in 2019. However, he made mechanical adjustments last year and then had success in winter ball. That has carried over to 2021. In four starts this season, he has a 1.45 ERA with a K-BB of 32-9 and just five hits allowed in 18 2/3 innings.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
