4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher James Kaprielian allowed two runs on 5 2/3 innings pitched with nine strikeouts in a no-decision against the Angels on Friday. Kaprielian was one-out away from qualifying for the win and posting a quality start, but it was still an encouraging outing from the A's prospect. The only damage he allowed came via the solo homer and he induced 13 swinging strikes on 99 pitches. The right-hander has whiffed 15 batters in 10 2/3 innings this season and has a strong matchup with the Mariners next week. Kaprielian should be a popular waiver-wire addition before that start.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
