4 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Taylor Walls will make his major league debut on Saturday, as he will bat eighth against Robbie Ray and the Blue Jays. Following the trade of Willy Adames to Milwaukee on Friday, many managers were hoping it would open up playing time for Wander Franco or Vidal Brujan. However the Rays opted to promote Walls — a third round pick in the 2017 draft out of Florida State University. While he doesn't have the hype of Franco or Brujan, Walls has shown some good fantasy potential with 19 home runs and 66 steals over four seasons in the minors. He was off to a good start at Triple-A Durham this year, slashing .327/.468/.490 with two home runs and two steals in 14 games. Walls should be a solid middle infield option in deep-mixed and NL-only formats for managers looking for steals.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
