Dylan Cease Picks Up First Loss
4 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Dylan Cease suffered his first loss of the season on Saturday versus the New York Yankees. Cease cruised through the first three innings, but struggled in the fourth and fifth innings. Cease left with bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the fifth inning and relief pitcher Matt Foster would allow two of those runs to come across the plate. The young hurler would finish with a final line of 4 1/3 innings and allowed five hits, five runs, four walks and struck out six. Cease has shown flashes of his potential, but walks have been his Achilles heel and have also limited his longevity in games. Cease will carry a 2-1 record with a 3.18 ERA into his next start versus the Baltimore Orioles in a favorable matchup on Thursday.
