Adam Engel Set To Begin Rehab Assignment On Monday
4 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Adam Engel (hamstring) will begin his rehab assignment on Monday in Triple-A Charlotte. Engel has been sidelined all season after suffering a Grade 3 right hamstring strain at the end of spring training. The outfielder is a defensive specialist, but had a nice 2020 season with three home runs and 12 RBI to go along with a .295 batting average. Due to his defense alone, Engel should become an everyday fixture in the White Sox lineup. His near return to the club will mean less playing time for outfielder Billy Hamilton and utility man Leury Garcia. Engel doesn't offer much in terms of the fantasy world and could be left on the waiver wire for now.
