3 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez will get the day off Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies. With a team day off Monday, this will give him two days to rest. Martinez has gotten plenty of time in the outfield in National League parks, so this is not an indication that he will sit in future interleague matchups. Martinez has been excellent this season with a .996 OPS and 12 home runs. He should be back in the lineup Tuesday.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
