Nico Hoerner Diagnosed With Left Hamstring Strain
4 years agoChicago Cubs second baseman Nico Hoerner (hamstring) was diagnosed with a left hamstring strain following his removal from Tuesday's game. Hoerner left after pulling his hamstring with an attempt to beat out an infield single. Hoerner fell to the ground, but was able to walk to the dugout on his own. The diagnosis likely means that Hoerner could land on the 10-day injured list. Hoerner has done nothing but hit this season and has a .338 batting average on the year to go along with nine RBI and three stole bases. Second baseman Eric Sogard and infielder David Bote should share playing time with Hoerner likely to be sidelined. Both can be ignored in all formats.
