3 years agoCincinnati Reds shortstop Kyle Farmer went 1-for-2 with a solo homer in a 2-1 win over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. Farmer went deep off of Washington ace Max Scherzer in the third inning to provide the Reds with their first run of the ballgame. The veteran infielder has settled in as the team's everyday shortstop with Eugenio Suarez shifting back to third base in what has been a more effective defensive alignment for Cincinnati. Farmer had opened the season as the team's utility man. He is hitting .219 with three homers, 12 runs, 11 RBI, and a steal, but he is batting .250 over his past 14 games.--Matt T - RotoBaller
