4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Jose Berrios earned his second straight win of the season in Tuesday's defeat of the Baltimore Orioles. Berrios pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs, one earned, on seven hits with two walks while striking out seven. The righty interestingly chose to throw fewer fastballs and more sinkers and curves- the result was a lot of weak contact, as evidenced by his 86.4 MPH average exit velocity. Berrios also generated 15 whiffs, seven of them on his curveball. Berrios improves to 5-2 this season, with a 3.67 ERA and a 63:17 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He lines up for a juicy rematch against the Orioles on May 31.--Tim Capurso
