Interlude - Special Guest: Khai Wu

Brady is joined by Khai Wu, a 6-2 professional fighter out of Tracy, California. Khai has fought at featherweight, bantamweight, and 140-lb. catchweight in-between, and is preparing for his next fight at bantamweight against Alejandro Rodrgiuez (2-1) in Colorado Combat Club 7 on July 24th. By the time the fight rolls around, it will be Khai's first fight in a year and a half, and while he acknowledges that ring rust could be a factor he has to deal with, he feels extremely confident going into the matchup riding a four-fight winning streak. Despite the layoff, Khai says he is just excited to have a fight lined up so that he can get back in the cage.

Travel restrictions made it difficult for "The Shadow" to fight again in Taiwan over the past year for top area promotion WOTD, an experience that Khai describes as particularly unique due to the differences in crowd behavior and the fact that he is a part of a growing fight culture in the country. This will be his first time fighting in the state of Colorado, having the rest of his professional experience coming in Sacramento and Stockton, California, which as we all know has a one-of-a-kind fighting culture.

In the fights of Khai "The Shadow" Wu, first note he makes the most of each opportunity in terms of walk-out showmanship. Then, note the flurries of strikes landing with damaging impact, the subsequent head movement and footwork making him difficult to hit in return, and the absolute comfort with which he transitions from one aspect of the game to another. In this Interlude episode of "Tap That", Brady and Khai discuss Khai's camp's unique approach to training, his unique affinity for head movement and the Peruvian Necktie, what has led to the growth of mixed martial arts in Taiwan, his takeaways from past performances, and his goals for the next 365 days now that a fight is on the books.
