4 years agoMiami Marlins first baseman/outfielder Garrett Cooper (oblique) played in Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Cooper appeared as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning, taking an at bat against Jose Alvarado in place of Corey Dickerson. After his at bat, Cooper remained in the game to play right field. In his one at bat, Cooper singled in the tying run. With the Marlins trotting out a spring training split squad looking lineup on Thursday, it was strange to see Cooper ready and available to play but not in there to begin with. He should be back in the starting lineup for the weekend series against the Boston Red Sox.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
