4 years agoNew York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton (quad) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list on Friday ahead of the scheduled contest against the Detroit Tigers. Stanton has been sidelined since May 17 with a left quad strain, though he had ramped up his workout activity over the past week and is joining the team at a good time, with favorable matchups coming up against Tigers pitching. Stanton owns a .282/.347/.534 slash line with nine homers and 24 RBI in 33 games played this season. The slugger's .280 expected batting average and .542 expected slugging percentage suggest he should maintain similar numbers the rest of the way for New York, provided he stays healthy.--Tim Capurso
