3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates infielder Ildemaro Vargas has been designated for assignment on Sunday. The 29-year-old infielder was claimed off waivers on May 17 after a short stint with the Chicago Cubs. Vargas is 3-for-34 this season and recorded only one hit during his time in Pittsburgh. Chase De Jong has been recalled to take his spot and the roster and will make the start against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. Vargas might get another chance else, but can be ignored in fantasy leagues. De Jong won't be a trustworthy streaming option for Sunday's slate.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
