3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda (groin, arm) is dealing with some general arm soreness. Manager Rocco Baldelli said that Maeda's groin injury is basically healed but that he's continuing to deal with some soreness that he has pitched through this season. The Twins said yesterday that the veteran right-hander will be out longer than initially anticipated, likely due to this arm issue. Maeda's continued absence should mean more opportunities for Randy Dobnak, who has made two starts in the majors since being recalled from Triple-A. Hopefully, the time off does Maeda some good, as he has seen some major regression in the ERA and strikeout departments this season.--Tim Capurso
