3 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit (oblique) is expected to miss at least a few weeks as he recovers from a Grade 2 oblique strain. Voit was recently placed on the 10-day injured list, though he will certainly be forced to miss more than the minimum time with the ailment. The slugger will be doing a few days of treatment at home, as his wife recently gave birth. The Yankees have had a tough time getting production out of the first base spot with Voit sidelined and will have to continue to explore all possible outlets, such as calling up first baseman Chris Gittens, who has been swinging a hot bat in Triple-A.--Tim Capurso
