Mike Montgomery Plans To Opt Out Of Contract
3 years agoNew York Yankees left-hander Mike Montgomery is planning to opt out of his contract with the team on June 1, according to Robert Murray of Fansided. Murray added that he believes Montgomery is looking for a major-league opportunity as he's spent the entire 2021 season in the minors. He's posted a disappointing 7.56 ERA, 1.68 WHIP, and 16:9 K/BB ratio over 16 2/3 innings (four starts) at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He has a chance to latch on to a needy team as a back-end starter or long reliever but won't hold any fantasy value if/when that happens.
