Chris Paddack Taken Deep Three Times
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Chris Paddack suffered his fourth loss Monday against the Chicago Cubs after allowing five earned runs over 4 ⅓ innings. Paddack's run of four consecutive strong outings was abruptly halted at Wrigley Field, where he was pounded for six hits including three homers. The right-hander walked one while striking out six. After a rocky start to the season, Paddack holds a respectable 4.24 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 22 percent strikeout rate across 46 ⅔ frames. Gradually gaining confidence in his curveball, a three-pitch mix has seemingly boosted the 25-year-old's confidence. He's set to face the New York Mets at home this weekend and is safe to deploy as an SP4.
