Tommy Pham Turning Things Around
3 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham is riding a six-game hitting streak, batting .370 (10-for-27) with a homer. With outfielder Trent Grisham (foot) on the IL, Pham has manned the leadoff spot and gradually lifted his season slash to .221/.351/.318. After an abysmal April, Pham has registered a .797 OPS in May with six extra-base hits. Overall, he has three homers, six steals and 35 runs-plus-RBI in 188 plate appearances. Even through the struggles, the 33-year-old veteran has maintained encouraging statcast results with a 12 percent barrell rate, .365 xwOBA and elite plate discipline. With the headline stats still depressed, the window to buy-low is still open but could be starting to close.
