German Marquez Pitches Well In No-Decision
3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander German Marquez took a no-decision on Tuesday when he allowed just one run on two hits with two walks and seven strikeouts in a 3-2 win over the Rangers. This was an excellent start by Marquez, who's now notched three-straight quality starts. He held the Rangers down over his seven innings of work, allowing just four base-runners total. A Joey Gallo RBI groundout in the top of the fourth inning led to the Rangers' only run against him. The recent string of good starts has lowered Marquez's season ERA to a respectable 4.13 to go along with a 1.39 WHIP and 69:33 K/BB ratio over 65 1/3 innings (12 starts). He'll look to keep things rolling this weekend when he faces the A's at home.
