4 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop prospect Wander Franco went 4-for-5 with a double and drove in three runs on Tuesday. The 20-year-old phenom now has a .299 batting average after slipping to as low as .268 in mid-May. Impressively, Franco hasn't struck out since May 22, which is a span of seven games. Overall, he has a BB-K ratio of 9-11 in 23 games. His outstanding bat-to-ball skill has helped him hit .331 over his three-year pro career. With defensive whiz and fellow rookie Taylor Walls struggling with the bat and Mike Brosseau hitting just .168, Franco could easily slide onto the Rays' 25-man roster. Tampa Bay management likely wants to see a little more sustained success before pulling the trigger on this talented youngster but the wait is almost over.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
