3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Sean Manaea went the distance on Wednesday night, blanking the Mariners for his second complete-game shutout this season. In fairness, Manaea's first CG was of the seven-inning variety, but there were no shortcuts in this one as he allowed just six baserunners across nine dominant innings while racking up eight K's. The right-hander has been excellent in the 2021 season as he's sporting a 4-2 record, 3.36 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts in 69 2/3 innings. His peripherals back up that success as his xERA sits at 3.45 with a strong .236 xBA. Manaea will look to stay hot in a good matchup with Arizona next time out.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
