Lucas Sims Picks Up Fourth Save
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Lucas Sims threw two scoreless innings of relief to earn the save in a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. Sims allowed two hits, walked a batter, and struck out two in the game. The veteran reliever worked his way out of a jam in the ninth inning as he put the first two batters of the inning on base before getting a double play. He then struck out Tommy Edman to nail down the save. Sims now has a 3-1 record, 5.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, four saves, and 31 strikeouts in 21 innings of work. He and Tejay Antone figure to both see save chances for the Reds going forward.
