Charlie Blackmon Goes Deep In Big Win Over Texas
3 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon had a big day at the plate on Thursday, going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored in an 11-6 win over the Rangers. It was a hit party for the Rockies as they jumped all over Rangers' starter Mike Foltynewicz over the first four innings. Blackmon took "Folty" deep in the bottom of the third inning with a solo home run. He then added a two-run double in the seventh off of Brett De Geus. The stellar day at the dish raised Blackmon's slash line to a solid .262/.362/.407 with four home runs and 29 RBI across 172 at-bats. The home run count is a lot lower than fantasy managers would expect this time of year but the veteran outfielder got off to a very slow start to the season. Those numbers should tick up now that the summer heat is on the way.
