Didi Gregorius Still Battling Elbow Stiffness
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies shortstop Didi Gregorius (elbow) hasn't played since May 13, but it sounds like he'll need more time on the injured list with inflammation in his right elbow. Manager Joe Girardi said Gregorius still experiences, "minor stiffness that he has to work through," and that it affects hit hitting more than fielding. Those aren't encouraging words for fantasy managers who could drop Gregorius if IL spots are at a premium. Gregorius was batting just .229 with a .266 on-base percentage before the injury. Ronald Torreyes should continue to start at shortstop in Gregorius' absence. Torreyes isn't much of a fantasy asset as a defense-first utility infielder.
