3 years agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Seth Lugo picked up his first hold of the season on Saturday in the Mets 4-0 victory over the San Diego Padres. Lugo pitched a scoreless eighth inning allowing one hit while striking out two batters. It was just the second appearance of the season for Lugo, following his return from the 60-day injured list on June 2. With Trevor May struggling, Lugo immediately slots back into the eighth inning role setting up closer Edwin Diaz. Lugo will be in line to put up elite ratios and strikeouts, to go with a large number of holds going forward. He also could vulture some saves if Diaz struggles. Managers in leagues that reward holds should immediately add Lugo if he is, somehow, still available on the waiver wire.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
