3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Dominic Smith went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in the Mets' 4-0 victory over the Padres on Saturday. The steal was Smith's second of the season, and the second on the Mets current road trip, and the third of his career. Smith continues to remain hot at the plate, having slashed .381/.481/.619 with a home run, four RBI, and two stolen bases over his last seven games. While his recent stolen base "outburst" is impressive, don't get used to it where Smith has a current sprint speed of 25.7 ft/s registering in the bottom 23% of all of MLB. That said, the steals are a nice compliment to his recent hot hitting. Fantasy managers who believe Smith's recent hitting is a precursor to a breakout may wish to buy-low on the 25-year old targeting managers frustrated with his overall 2021 performance.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
