3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda (forearm) threw a bullpen session on Sunday. Pineda was dealing with some forearm tightness that popped up in his most recent start and forced him to be scratched from his scheduled outing Sunday, though he is now lined up to take the mound on Tuesday for the opening game of the series against his former team, the New York Yankees. Pineda has pitched to a 3-3 record with a 3.40 ERA in 47 2/3 innings with the second-highest strikeout rate of his career but has given up a fair amount of hard contact, likely contributing to his 4.33 expected ERA.--Tim Capurso
