3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober was effective despite logging a no-decision on Sunday against the Kansas City Royals. Ober pitched four innings, allowing one run on five hits while fanning four batters with no walks issued. The 25-year-old righty generated just eight whiffs, though seven of them came on the fastball-slider combo, which Royals' batters averaged just a 79.3 MPH exit velocity against. Ober was lifted quickly after 51 pitches, though the Twins were likely being careful with him after a relatively long fourth inning. He seems like he could fit into the Twins' future rotation plans, but he may be stuck as a spot starter in the meantime.--Tim Capurso
