3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Lucas Sims threw a scoreless ninth to preserve an 8-7 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. Sims struck out two and worked around two hits to pick up the save. He made things interesting as the Cardinals were able to get runners on first and third with no outs but Sims then managed to rattle off three straight outs to pick up his sixth save of the season. Overall, the right-hander has a 3-1 record, 4.70 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 35 strikeouts over 23 innings of work. He continues to strengthen his grip on the ninth-inning role in Cincy while Tejay Antone works mostly as the team's setup man.--Matt T - RotoBaller
